Treatment Details
Mechanism of Action
Inhibits intestinal cholesterol absorption via the NPC1L1 transporter. Added to statin therapy when LDL-C targets are not achieved on maximum tolerated statin alone. Reduces LDL-C by an additional 15–25% on top of statin.
Dosing Notes
10 mg once daily, typically combined with statin.
