Overview
Treatment Details
Mechanism of Action
Investigational human monoclonal antibody targeting interleukin-6 (IL-6), a central mediator of vascular inflammation and atherosclerotic plaque progression. The Phase 2 RESCUE trial showed significant reductions in inflammatory biomarkers (hsCRP, IL-6, fibrinogen) in high-cardiovascular-risk patients with CKD. Phase 3 cardiovascular outcomes trial (ZEUS) ongoing.
Dosing Notes
Investigational; subcutaneous injection. Dose under evaluation in Phase 3.

What the Evidence Shows
Each finding below is linked to its primary source. Confidence levels reflect the quality and quantity of available evidence — not CelluTarget's endorsement of any treatment.
High: Supported by multiple robust studies or regulatory approval
Moderate: Supported by limited controlled studies or consistent case series
Low: Based on case reports, expert opinion, or early-phase data only
Low ConfidenceBased on case reports, expert opinion, or early-phase data only
Phase 2 RESCUE trial: ziltivekimab significantly reduced hsCRP, IL-6, fibrinogen, and other inflammatory biomarkers in patients with atherosclerotic disease and CKD. Phase 3 ZEUS outcomes trial ongoing — definitive cardiovascular event data not yet available.
